What to Know: The Master of Arts in Mass Communication program is customizable as students choose an area of focus such as social media, public relations, or journalism and then completes research in that area under the guidance of a faculty member.
What Does It Cost?: The tuition cost for the 2018-2019 academic year is $7,080 for two semesters for members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The tuition cost for non-members is $14,160 for two semesters. These tuition costs do not include books, supplies or room and board.
Anything Else?: The average time spent completing the Master of Arts in Mass Communication program is two to two and a half years. The deadline for applying to the program is March 31st for a fall semester start.
SOUTHERN UTAH UNIVERSITY
Southern Utah University in Cedar City offers a Master of Arts in Professional Communication program in on-campus and online formats.
What to Know: The Master of Arts in Professional Communication program is a 36-credit hour program designed to focus on advanced writing, research and presentation skills for a variety of communication industries.

UNIVERSITY OF UTAH
The University of Utah offers Master of Arts and Master of Science in Communication degrees on their campus in Salt Lake City.
What to Know: The Master of Arts or Science in Communication program has four program tracks for students to choose from: Critical Cultural Studies, Digital Media, Communicating Science, Health, Environment and Risk and Rhetoric.

Anything Else?: The master's degree program is designed as a two-year program, and students end their study with either a thesis or a final comprehensive exam or project.
WEBSTER STATE UNIVERSITY
Webster State University offers a hybrid Master of Professional Communication program that combines online learning with classroom instruction on-campus in Ogden.
What to Know: The Master of Professional Communication program is designed to be completed in two years, and includes online classes with on-campus instruction one evening per week so students can continue working full-time while completing their degree.
What Does It Cost?: The cost for graduate level tuition and fees for the 2018-2019 academic year is $2,699 per semester for Utah residents based on a 6-credit hour course load, and $5,875 for non-residents. Anything Else?: Students in the program can customize their degree by choosing three elective courses and completing a thesis or project on a topic of their choice.
Westminster University offers a hybrid Master of Strategic Communication that is primarily online and meets on campus once per semester in Salt Lake City.
What to Know: The Master of Strategic Communication program is a self-paced primarily online program that is taken over 5 semesters and completed in 18 months. Students work in cohorts and gain hands on experience by working with real clients on strategic communication projects.
What Does It Cost?: The tuition rate for the 2018-2019 academic year is 40 credits at 873 per credit hour for a total tuition cost of $34,920.
Anything Else?: With on-campus time required once per semester, the program is designed for students to continue working full-time while completing their degree. The program culminates in an all-inclusive international trip where students work together to put their skills into practice.
